In order to ensure that we get full use of the time available it is important that everyone contributes to the various aspect of a club night. Basically the stages are setting up, booking in, racing, marshalling, and break down. These are described in more detail below.

Setting up:-

Equipment available from 6:30pm.

EVERYBODY helps set up the track.

Booking In;-

Drivers book in at Race Control between 6.45pm and 7.05pm.

Following booking in, each driver will be allocated a heat, car number and frequency. Details are posted on the board. Heats are graded on ability.

Each driver is responsible for ensuring they have the correct number on their car (One number  so it is clearly visible to Race Control). Numbers are available from Race Control.
Each driver is responsible for ensuring they have the correct crystal in their transmitter and receiver.

AMB personal transponders will be used. Each driver is responsible for ensuring they have a transponder fitted - please ask at race control if you need assistance. Drivers are also responsible for ensuring that the transponder number being used by race control is correct - this will be shown on the heat sheets prior to the racing starting.

Practice:-

Due to the time constraints there will be no practice.

Racing:-

Racing will start at around 7.10pm.
Each heat will contain a maximum of ten cars.
It is the driver's responsibility to be on the start line on time for their race. If a driver is late, the race may start without them.
The start signal is a series of audible bleeps followed by a warble. THE RACE STARTS ON THE WARBLE AND NOT BEFORE !!!
Each race will last five minutes plus split time. Occasionally, due to time constraints, race duration's will be reduced at the discretion of Race Control.
Each driver will race in three Rounds during the qualifying evenings and three finals at the finals evening.
Results are posted on the board following each race.

Marshalling:-

After each race, each driver will marshal the next race by standing next to the bollard with their car number on it, and watch the track in their vicinity. It is the marshal's responsibility to attend to crashed cars and put them back on the track, and to repair any track damage as appropriate.
If a marshal is not at their marshal post at the start of a race, or if they abandon their post before the race has finished, an appropriate penalty to their previous lap score will be applied.
No driver is excused marshalling duties, except in exceptional circumstances agreed beforehand with Race Control.
Rules for marshalling;-
MARSHAL AS YOU WOULD EXPECT TO BE MARSHALLED
NO EATING OR DRINKING ALLOWED WHEN MARSHALLING
STAND - DO NOT SIT - BY THE BOLLARD WHEN MARSHALLING
DO NOT REPAIR BROKEN CARS, REMOVE THEM FROM THE TRACK, SWITCH OFF IF APPROPRIATE AND PLACE SAFELY OFF THE TRACK.

Packing Away:-

Drivers are required to assist in packing away the track at the end of the meeting.
Racing will finish at approximately 9:50pm.

Racing Etiquette:-

Drivers should attempt to move over to allow faster cars that are lapping to pass.
Drivers must not shout at marshals or other drivers. Foul language of any nature will not be tolerated.
Drivers must not walk on the track while a race is in progress.
If your car has crashed, please release the throttle until the car has been marshalled. Rotating wheels can cause cuts & grazes, and a marshal may refuse to touch a crashed car until the wheels stop rotating.
It is inevitable that contact and crashes will occur, but intentional crashing into other cars is not allowed and will be penalised.
Transmitters MUST be switched off at all times, except when racing.

Other rules:-

Pit tables and chairs borrowed from the school are to be returned, without exception, to where they were found.
Please put all litter in the bins provided.
Do not roam around the building, other than to use the toilets. Upstairs and classrooms outside the foyer are strictly out of bounds. Anyone found upstairs or in classrooms will be asked to leave.
Do not use any other school facilities, unless agreed by Race Control.
Parking space is limited, so please park sensibly and consider others.
No smoking is allowed within the school buildings. If you wish to smoke, please stand outside.
The Rugby Club Clubhouse toilets can be used, but please do not use them to clean your car!
