Now the winter months are here CMCC moves our racing indoors, to Hardenhuish School where the majority of our racing is 10th scale electric on road touring cars, Mini's, F1 and GT's. The touring classes we run at the club is 13.5 - 21.5 Brushless 'blinky mode' Speedo or the Saturn 20 class. However if you have some other scale of electric car that you would like to race please come along. As long as we deem the car safe to race on the carpet we will find a heat for you to race in. If you don't have your own RC car the club has two complete sets which are available for hire. Usually the last Tuesday meeting of each month is set aside as a “Finals” night, where we compete for the prestige, the glory and not forgetting, the chocolate!
The venue is open from around 6.15pm with track building commencing shortly thereafter. Booking in for the races starts around 6.45pm and we look to start the first race between 7.15 to 7.30pm, and finish just before 10.00pm. We aim to run at least 3 rounds per race heat each evening and use the latest timing equipment to accurately produce race times.
You do not need to be a member of the club to race, although it is cheaper to race as a member, but if you are new to the club, your first race meeting is FREE.
Over the summer months CMCC move outdoors, racing 1/10th electric off road buggies and trucks at Chippenham Rugby Club, which is just off the A350. If you don't have a buggy but would like to see what RC racing is all about the club owns two Kyosho Lazer Ready To Run buggies which can be hired out on club nights.
