2011/2012 Chippenham Winter Indoor Championship Rules and Regulations
Overview
The CWIC is a series of six meetings for one tenth electric scale radio controlled circuit cars which will be run or carpet and held at the Christie Miller Sports Hall, Melksham, Wiltshire. Each of the six meetings comprises two Championship rounds, your best seven from twelve results will count towards the CWIC Championship. In the event of a tie the eighth round will be taken into consideration, and so on.

Venue:
The CWIC is run at the Christie Miller sports hall in Melksham, SN12 6QU (15 minutes from Chippenham) which is well signposted from the Bowerhill Trading estate. Please do not block the entrance area by the main entrace door. Please park in the car park opposite the sports hall. Mains power is available for the principle purposes of charging batteries, no heaters or kettles please. There will be no tables available, but a limited number of chairs so Please bring a pit table and chairs.
There is a cafe area which serves a limited amount of drinks and food. Also, as this is a sports hall there are numerous facilities for other members of the family.
General Information:
Racing will be on Grey Prima GT carpet measuring approximately 30m x 16m. Only BRCA approved odourless additives are permitted at the organisers discretion.
There will be separate heats and regulations for the classes listed, provided we receive a minimum of eight entrants per meeting for that particular class. A full set of rules will be available at each of the meetings. In general the CWIC Rules are based on those utilised at National Level meetings, I.e. BRCA. It is the drivers responsibility to ensure that their car is compliant with the appropriate rules and regulations.
We will aim to run a minimum of three qualifying rounds plus the double leg final. Your CWIC Championship points will be based on your result in each of leg of the final.
The heats will be worked out prior to the meeting, and as the Championship progresses will be based on your average points position, thus ensuring that even if you miss a meeting you are seeded into the appropriate heat.
Entry:
The entry fee is £10 per class per meeting, the fee for a second class at a meeting is £4. Please ensure that your entry and fee is received on time, no entry fee—no entry!
Entry to these events is strictly by pre-booking only, and will be limited (approx 120) to ensure that there is time to run the required races. The entry fee must be received eight days prior to the meeting.
All entries are taken on a first come first served basis. Please note that a minimum of 8 entrants per class is required to warrant running a particular class.
Entry is available on line via the club web site at www.cmcc.org.uk and payment preference is via PayPal to payment@cmcc.org.uk. Postal entries are also available.
For those wishing to enter a number, or all the meetings in one go, we recognise that this may represent a considerable financial outlay, therefore we ask the following;- complete your online entry form indicating all the events/classes you wish to enter. Then make your online PayPal entry payment (£10) for the first meeting, to arrive no later than 15th October. Then for each subsequent meeting please ensure that your entry fee is received no later than eight days prior to the next meeting. If we do not receive the entry fee in time for “pre-booked” racers then we will assume that you have withdrawn from the Championship.
Please note refunds will be given provided sufficient notice is given. Additionally please note that at the organisers discretion payment on the day could be £15 and entries received after the closing date (i.e. eight days before the meeting) may attract a further levy up to £20. Basically please ensure your entry and fee is received on time. Common Race Class Rules:
No scratch built cars. Minimum Touring Car weight in accordance with BRCA regulations prevailing on the date of the meeting.
Batteries—Any commercially available LiPO pack on current BRCA list, any NiMH 6 cell pack.
Batteries—Mini—Any commercially available NiMH 6 cell pack or hardcased LiPO cells which do not require the chassis to be modified to accommodate them. LiPO cut-off is required.
Batteries—LiPo— charging and general use is permitted based on BRCA guidelines
Stock Touring (17.5 Brushless and 27 Turn Brushed )
190mm Bodies as per BRCA guidelines for touring cars. Any 17.5 Brushless motor which is commercially available in the UK or any 27Turn rebuildable brushed Stock motor i.e. With maximum of 24 degrees advance plus any Co27 and X Stock variants which is commercially available in the UK. Motors can be ball raced. Controlled wheel/tyre is the Sorex pre glued Touring car tyre range. Minimum ride height is 5mm.
Super Stock Touring (13.5 Brushless)
As per Stock touring except only 13.5 Brushless motors which are commercially available in the UK. Controlled wheel/tyre is the Sorex pre glued Touring car tyre range. Minimum ride height is 5mm.
Pro Stock Touring (10.5 Brushless)
190mm Bodies as per BRCA guidelines for touring cars. Any commercially available (UK stockist) 10.5 brushless motor. Controlled wheel/tyre is the Sorex pre glued Touring car tyre range. Minimum ride height is 5mm.
Mini Formula
Any Tamiya M Chassis Front wheel drive chassis can be used. The original chassis must be used and remain unmodified, and chassis conversions such as the Xevo are not a permitted hop up.Electronic Speed controllers are permitted. The control motor is the Saturn 20 which will be retained between meetings by the organisers. No gearing restrictions. Tyres are the Sweep slicks / SPC treaded on Sweep wheels. Hop-ups can be used as long they are designed for that type of Chassis, and can be from any manufacture i.e. GPM. Bodyshells can be any designed for a Mini chassis, Kamtec shells designed for the Mardave V12 are allowed. Any Differentials designed for these types of cars may be used, but the differentials must not be locked (i.e. Spool). Minimum ride height is 3mm. Minimum weight limit 1250g
Mini Outlaw
Any Commercially available 2wd based Mini-Chassis chassis with track width 175mm and wheelbase 210mm min, 240mm max can be used.Independant suspension setup. No PAN car chassis permitted. Any Electronic Speed controllers are permitted. Motor is unlimited, however, we suggest a limit of 17.5 Brushless and anyone deemed not to have control of their car will be expected to slow it down to avoid the risk of exclusion. Tyres are the Sweep slicks on Sweep wheels. Hop-ups (besides Motors) can be used as long they are designed for that type of Chassis, and can be from any manufacture i.e. GPM. Bodyshells can be any designed for a Mini chassis, Kamtec shells designed for the Mardave V12 are allowed. Cars must be either front or rear wheel drive (regardless of body). 4 wheel drive is not allowed. The 'chassis type' raced in round one must be used throughout the day i.e. No switching between front and rear wheel drive. Any Differentials designed for these types of cars may be used, but the differentials must not be locked (i.e. Spool). Minimum ride height is 3mm. Minimum weight limit 1250g.
Formula 1
Any 2wd based Chassis from the following: HPI Formula Ten, Tamiya F103, F104 and 3Racing F109, and any hop ups designed for 1/10th Formula 1 cars.. Any 1/10th F1 body shell which is commercially available. Tyres Any Tamiya, HPI, Pit, Shimizu, Cross and 3 Racing foam or rubber tyres. Motor: HPI Saturn 20Turn only. Any Electronic Speed controller. Minimum weight 1050g, minimum ride height 3mm
World GT
Based on the principles of the BRCA GT2 and GT3 defined class. Touring car suspension systems not permitted. Body shell list as per BRCA list.Batteries / Motors: GT2 1s/10.5 & GT3 2s/17.5. Minimum weight 930g, minimum ride height 3mm.
